SharePoint User Groups Side Meeting at SPC2008 plus a New Offering for User Groups

As mentioned by Lawrence and I recently we will be holding a "Side Meeting" type of session at SPC 2008.   We will be discussing the following:

  • When: March 3, 5:30-7:00PM PST
  • Where: Room 616/617 at Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Seattle WA
  • Agenda:
    • 5:30-5:45: Introductions
    • 5:45-6:15: Overview of SharePoint product group's community strategy, programs, and resources
    • 6:15-6:45: Overview of Microsoft’s overall online user group support strategy and preview of Microsoft’s User Group Support Services website for SharePoint user groups
    • 6:45-7:00: Q&A

    SharePoint User Groups Side Meeting at SPC2008

    This is a very timely session as I with the help of an incredible group of Community Members have been working on putting out a offering for User Groups.   We are now offering free web space for groups.  These sites are based off of SharePoint and were using a combination of the CKS-UGE Template and if desired a standard Team Site that can be customized to fit your needs.  If you want more information please leave a reply or come up and chat me up at SPC.

    I also want to take some time to thank some people that have been a great help with this effort.  This work remember is done on our free time and its for the good of the community.

    I won't be able to attend the SPC in Seattle but I'm really interested in finding more about the offering you guys are providing. The Jordan SharePoint User Group is actually looking for a space for it's website, so I'd really appreciate it if you can tell me more about this.

    Thanks for the reply and although there is no current UG in Spain at present to the best of my knowledge I reached out to both Microsoft and a fellow MVP in Spain and we are going to try and get one set up.  I will provide more information once we get it going.
